Project Overview

Bizness apps is a mobile app building platform that enables small businesses to utilize native technology with a CMS solution. When I came on board, there was a ton of software built, but without consistency or standardization. This held true with the brand, as well as design components. The majority of my effort was to create a flexible design system while redesigning the platform from the ground up.

I created a design language and a UI pattern library that emphasized consistency, affordance and a clear hierarchy.

During the redesign of the CMS platform, we also needed to ship new features. The existing architecture had its challenges in terms of scalability, so we re-architected portions of the CMS to accommodate entirely new sections.

The capabilities of the CMS are truly incredible. Unfortunately the poor user experience created a steep learning curve for new users. Using best practice with the UI and introducing a few walkthroughs vastly improved the usability.

A decline in leads after the launch of a previous website led us to give the site a refresh. The main areas of improvement included our brand story and product offerings. We achieved this with a refined content structure and better communication design.
